Our main targetgroup are children and adolescents with acquired brain injury in the agegroup between 1-25 years (any type of injury to the brain after birth). An ABI can be caused by anoxia, trauma, stroke, braintumor, infection. The resultant brain injury can result in emotional, cognitive and physical impairments that may be temporary or permanent and the deficits may vary from mild-to-severe.
We have a holistic rehabilitation approach and the families (parents, siblings and other relatives) are offered guidance and counseling. The specialists and other professionals surrounding the child receives supervision and education in the specific case.
The purpose and goal is to provide competent and targeted rehabilitation based on a highly multidisciplinary approach and a developmental orientation. The priorities in the rehabilitation are to maximize independence, to enable a return to daily life.
Being able to act in the best possible way on the different impairments caused by the brain injury - call on all our professions to work interdisciplinary together. We use a wide range of methods and adapt our approach to the individual needs of the specific child or young person.
